This work explores the status of homosexuality in 1970s–80s Ireland, focusing on the Catholic Church’s influence on the public’s perception.

Inspired by my grandad, a gay man who came out at the age of 50, and archival material from the Irish Gay Rights Movement, my work reflects both struggle and progress.

Using stained glass imagery as inspiration, I highlight those forced to hide their true selves while celebrating the movement’s victories.
